With the booming of China’s urbanization, in order to establish ecological-friendly towns, the landscape is badly needed. Agricultural industrialization is of great significance to build a well-off society in an all-round way. Sightseeing leisure nurseries are among the sources of urban greening materials. At the same time they are also to be integrated in agricultural industrialization. Not only can it provide high-quality young trees and flowers to beautify the country and to make contributions to agricultural industrialization, but also can it improve the livelihood of the people and promote the building of ecological civilization.In southwest China, light, rainfall, temperature, and other climate conditions bred the rich plant resources. Yibin is located in the center of southwest China, the richness of plant resources here is typical. This paper analyzes the basic features of leisure sightseeing nurseries, related theories, the planning and design principles, contents and methods. It is a case study of Yibin Splendid Palace Garden, a leisure sightseeing nursery in Hongyanwo, Yibin, In this essay, the author first analyzed the situation of local resources, social and economic development and general project synthetically, as well as the laws and regulations and related policies. Then the author put out the planning and design guidelines, in accordance with the principles of ecology, prospect, people-orientation. Thirdly, the author determined the concept of the design and plan of this item and formulated the development strategies for industry, culture, ecology, together with tourism. Fourthly the author analyzed the advantages and disadvantages, opportunities and challenges, which showed the direction for the project of the accurate positioning and planning methods, which played a guiding role of this project at the concrete stage in dividing functional sectors, planning and designing. Meanwhile, the author has also confirmed and revised leisure sightseeing nursery planning theory so as to explore principles, ways and procedures to build certain landscape basic project to function both as a satisfying seedling production base and and as a multi-purpose leisure, sightseeing, popular science nursery. The paper is of some significance in implementation of the leisure sightseeing nursery in southwest China, the increase of entertainment of urban residents, promotion of agricultural industrialization development, demonstrating the suburbs surrounding the city’s ecological environment, which has a certain guiding significance in stimulating the development of the leisure tourism industry.
