Silo as an important structure for storage of bulk materials plays an important rolein industrial production, steel silos and reinforced concrete silo are common silostructure. With the deepening of steel silos and reinforced concrete silos, and thedevelopment of the composite structure, the paper proposed a new silo structure——steel-concrete composite silo.As a new silo structure, the research of the steel-concrete composite silos will bebased on the steel silos and reinforced concrete silo, and reference the existingcombination of structure, and gradually to study it. To this end, the paper selectedrelatively simple silo structure——the ground-supported flat-bottomed cylindricalsteel-concrete composite silo to research. Through the analysis of the constituentelements of steel-concrete composite silos, and use twin shear unified strength theory toderivate the bearing capacity of inner and outer plates of the steel-concrete compositesilo, and obtained the capacity formulas of the combined silo; to understand thesteel-concrete composite silo in axial failure modes and stress response, using the finiteelement software ANSYS to analysis the stress of the combination silo in Axial;through applying different loads to the top surface of steel-concrete composite silo wall,and obtained the form of its damage and stress under different pressure conditions, andprovide a reference for the future design and research of steel-concrete composite silos;through establishment the finite element models of steel-concrete composite and steelsilos, and imposed vertical loads to analysis and comparison, and obtained that concreteof the steel-concrete composite silo played beneficial effects to the capacity of the plates;through the experimental analysis of the finite element model of the combination silounder the side pressure of stored material, and comparative analysis the steel silo in thesame condition, and obtained that the steel-concrete composite silo have a better storagecapacity than steel silo.Steel-concrete composite silo as a new silo structure, there is a lot of content needto be studied, the paper made a simple analysis of the ground-supported flat-bottomedcylindrical steel-concrete composite silo. The paper hopes to as a reference for thefuture research.
