A new arc shaped steel damper (ASSD) haunch braces was designed. It can be installedin beam column joint, have good energy dissipation behavior, simple structure, commonmaterial.18models with different constructional parameter and reduced were designed toresearch the bearing capacity and the hysteretic performance of the ASSD. All models werecarried out numerical simulation with software ABAQUS. Results shows that the hystereticcurve of ASSD is stable and full, the energy dissipation capacity of ASSD is strong; With thesome cross section area, the initial stiffness, energy dissipation capacity and equivalentdamper ratio of ASSD with circular section is slightly smaller than that of ASSD with squaresection, but the yield displacement of the former is smaller, the efficiency of energydissipation of ASSD with one steel bar is better than that of ASSD with two steel bar; Withthe increasing of size of section, the initial stiffness, energy dissipation capacity andequivalent damper ratio increase significantly, the yield displacement increases first and thendecreases, peak stress increases; With the decreasing of radius of curvature, the initialstiffness,energy dissipation capacity and equivalent damper ratio decrease gradually, butyield displacement decreases gradually; The equivalent damper ratio of ASSD with reducedis greater than that of ASSD, ASSD with reduced had excellent energy dissipation capacity;Using the reduced, diameter of the section of middle part (b) should be controlled at70%ofdiameter of the section between connection plate and end part (d). Finally, ASSD wasresearch by theoretical analysis, the preliminary design method was proposed.For a multilayer large span SRC frame structure with ASSD, using software ETABS todesign this erengy dissipation structure and research the seismic performance of it. Resultsshows that story drift angle, story shear, roof displacement, internal force in beam columnjoints are effectively control by ASSD; ASSD can dissipation40%seismic energy underrarely occurred earthquake.Make energy dissipation design of nonlinear viscous damper on a practical SRCframe core wall structure in Kunming, use software ETABS to research the seismicperformance of it. Results shows that story drift angle, roof displacement, roof accelerationare effectively control by nonlinear viscous dampers. Dynamic elasto plastic time historyanalysis under rare earthquake was conducted by software PERFORM3D, investigating thestructure yield mechanism, assessing the seismic performance. Results shows that the energydissipation structure meet the objective of no collapsed in rare earthquake, the condition of components yield can achieve predetermined performance target, nonlinear viscous dampershas play a good effect of energy dissipation.
