Scholar-bureaucrat is not the only group who is user of Lingnan Garden any morein Qing Dynasty.The group of Hong merchants began to dominate constrction ofLingnan Garden by huge wealth.The Garden of Hong merchants was created base onneeds and aesthetics of Hong merchants.The Garden of Hong merchants was the newrepresentative style of Lingnan Garden in Qing Dynasty. The purpose of the paper isresearch on the history and achievement of Haishan Xianguan Garden which isrepresentative work of Garden of Hong merchants. The paper is constituted withchapters.The first chapter reviews stories of ower of Haishan Xianguan Garden.Thesecond chapter researches on the ecological environment of Haishan XianguanGarden.The third chapter explores the history of Haishan Xianguan Garden.Thefourth chapter analyse the using funtions of Haishan Xianguan Garden.The fifthchapter researches on architecture arts and skills of Haishan Xianguan Garden.The macro-background of Hong merchants Garden is the improvement ofeconomy and the development of foreign trade of Guangdong in Qing Dynasty basedon the conclusion of the case. The Hong merchants’Garden was created bese onChinese classical Garden,but it adopted some skills of western garden.It had createdspecial pattern of manifestation and using functions which were reactions of Chineseclassical Garden in new era.The interim of19thcentury which was a period before China had been opened fromstate of isolation. The group of Hong merchants was confronting western culturedirectly. It reflects attitudes and methods of Hong merchants by research on HaishanXianguan Garden. It’s also benefit to research of Thirteen Hongs of Guangzhou tosome extent.
