Mechanical seal is an important key part on the area of fluid flow equipment. As the more big equipments are coming and parameters are improving, the more difficulty is for mechanical seals to be met. The mechanical seals often appear local overheating, overwearing and short life in the heavy conditions. So this is so hard to meet continue running requirements on the petrochemical industry. It is necessary for us to need a science system theory analysis tool. Based on the FEA (finite element analysis) theory and combined with the international theory on mechanical seals, the coupling of structural-thermal analysis model is created to analyze the mechanical seal.At this point of the engineering application of hydrogenation feeding pump mechanical seal, it is analyzed the deformation at the different conditions. The paper researches on the technology of how to control the seal face’s deformation, and analyzes the hydrogenation feeding pump seal. Based on the analysis of the mechanical seal structure, we can solve the actual problems at the operator condition.In the second chapter, the mechanical seal structure and basic theory are all described in details. In the third chapter on analyzing the load static structure mechanics, it can get the principle that the seal face deformation at the pressure condition, and the seal face deflects to diverge taper. Though the analyzing the deflection of seal face at the pressure and temperature, it can find a method how to reduce the deformation and stress. In the fourth chapter, it analyzes the process of thermal load, it can also get principle of the seal face deformation at high temperature condition. Though the thermal analysis, it can be ready for the next coupling analysis. In analyzing the coupling load and thermal, the mechanical seal can be analyzed as a whole body. In the fifth chapter of the analysis tribology of seal face. So above all, the analysis of mechanical seal is complete, though the face seal taper analysis and using the control taper technology, we can get the seal face deformation principle and the improved method of how to get the best mechanical face seal.Not only thinking about the mechanical seal face, the other important metal components are also thought, such as spring plate and plate. This text analyzes the metal components using the FEA method, and gets the deformation and stress data. So using the data, we can know the performance of the whole seal. Also, from the material of metal parts, it explains how to improve its performance and arrives the mechanical seal’s requirements.From analysis of the whole body mechanical seal, it is not only thinking about the face seal, but also the other important metal components. The face seal stands for a system state when the mechanical seal is running at operator condition. So, the results of the text research are valuable to design, manufacture, application and maintenance of mechanical seals.
