The Optimization Research Of Container Liner Shipping Routes Between China And Southeast Asia Based On Genetic Algorithm

With the construction of free trade district between China and ASEAN, among all the regions which exchange goods with China, Southeast Asia will be the fastest growing region. A large number of components and finished products will be transported in container, in the coming years the container traffic volume between China and Southeast Asia will increase substantially. The increase of container traffic volume will lead to a result that a large number of shipping companies will adjust capacity on the routes in the region and the opening of more new routes will exacerbate the layout confusion of the container liner shipping routes in the region. Therefore the shipping industry will face a significant topic on how to plan the container liner shipping routes reasonably, improve market efficiency and to reduce operating costs of the liner companies. This paper aims to study the optimization problems of container liner shipping routes between China and Southeast Asia and try to design a reasonable container liner shipping route between China and Southeast Asia.Based on the analysis of container liner market between China and Southeast Asia, this paper uses mathematical methods of dynamic programming, establishes the container liner shipping route model which minimizes the total transport cost, uses the genetic algorithm to solve the model, finally tests and verifies the validation of the constructed model based on a example of a company which operates the container liner business between China and Southeast Asia. The results show that the constructed model can be used to solve practical problems and calculate a reasonable container liner shipping route between China and Southeast Asia.
