The trade increases rapidly between China and ASEAN since the first talk in 1991.With the continuous development of bilateral trade between China and ASEAN,more and more attention has been paid to container liner transportation, which is an important means of transportation for China-ASEAN trade. How to build a more reasonable liner network with the characteristics of China-ASEAN cargo flow and water features?Scholars are concerned about these problems. In 2013 China proposed the "Silk Road Economic Belt" and "21st Century Maritime Silk Road" strategy, aimed at strengthening cooperation and contact among China and its alongside countries. It is foreseeable that the trade pattern between China and ASEAN,maritime transport route and political connection will change greatly in the coming years. Therefore, this paper uses the stochastic frontier analysis to estimate the trade situation of China-ASEAN in 2020 and redesign the hub-liner liner network between China and ASEAN.The thesis provides advices for the government to better carry out the port planning and shipping companies to better carry out China-ASEAN route layout by comparing the container liner route between China and ASEAN in 2013 and 2020.Based on the study of liner route network design and combined with the bilateral trade volume of China and ASEAN,the paper designed a hub-and-spoke liner shipping route and with the objective of minimize the cost. The use of hub-and-spoke network structure for liner transportation can achieve the economies of scale between the hub ports, satisfy the transportation needs and realize the task of container transportation at lower cost at the same time.
