The brushless DC motor (BLDCM) is the product of the combination of mechanicaland power electronics technology. Based on improved brush motors, BLDCM avoidscommutation noise, sparks and electromagnetic interference. In addition, BLDCM hassome advantages of strong starting torque, excellent static and dynamic characteristics,excitation loss, high efficiency and easy to achieve speed. It has been widely applied in thefield of robots, electric vehicles, CNC machine tools and aerospace. Studying in theBLDCM technology is of great significance and good prospect.This paper uses BLDCM control strategy as the research object. After depth study ofthe basic structure, mathematical model of the brushless DC motor and using Fuzzy controltheory as the theoretical basis, this paper designs PID, fuzzy-PI two control strategies inMATLAB. Combining with the double-loop brushless DC motor speed control systemenvironment, simulation model of brushless DC motor control system is set. By simulationunder the two control strategies, the inadequacies of the two control strategies are found.The improved measure, the piecewise fuzzy-PI control is proposed at last. The results ofsimulation comparison of these three control strategies demonstrate: in wide speed rangeand high precision control environment, the piecewise fuzzy-PI control strategy greatlyimproves the performance of brushless DC motor control.After theoretical simulation, based on TMS320F2812DSP controller, hardware andcontrol algorithm of brushless DC motor control system are designed. The experimentalcontrol system is built. The experimental results show that there is some superiority of thepiecewise fuzzy-PI control strategy.The piecewise fuzzy-PI control strategy in this paper achieves the desired results afterthe simulation and the experimental aspects. In addition, the piecewise fuzzy-PI controlstrategy has opened up new ideas for the latter part study of brushless DC motor controltechnology.
