Marshalling yard is well equiped with shunting operation equipment and rolling stockmaintenance equipment, which is an important base of recompositing wagon flow in therailway network. The route management of marshalling yard is used to solve the problemthat how to establish the right route for the right train set in the right time. Under thecondition of the synthetic automation of marshalling yard, the route management iscomposed by three parts, including deciding midway, choosing path and establishingroute, which is still lack of the mature theoretical support.The aim of the paper is to achieve the automatic route management in syntheticautomation of marshalling yard. Through deeply analyzing the work organization ofmarshalling yard and task flow of train set, it summarizes the different routemanagement requirements of different posts and indicates the basic principle of usingcomputer to achieve automatic route management. According to the actuality of Chinesemarshalling yards, it brings forward the basic strategy and the “abstract chessboard”model for route management in synthetic automation of marshalling yard.The route management of marshalling yard is implemented step by step. Decidingmidway, choosing path and establishing route are the contents as well as the phases ofthe process of route management. The key of deciding midway is to match and to parsescheme by locomotive, and its process can be divided into four steps: matching scheme,parsing task, calculating trip and seeking midway. The key of choosing path is tocalculate the path for every waiting route of a throat in accordance with the lockingmoment, and its process can be divided into two steps: mapping throat midway queueand calculating route instruction. The key of establishing route is to find the events whichtrigger the route instruction to execute, and these events contain three kinds ofconditions: equipment condition, task condition and forespeak condition. The process of route management is the process of gradually optimizing andadjusting route path. The aim of adjusting route path is to eliminate the potentialinterference of resource competition among different routes. There are four modes todescribe the interference above, including “collision”,“crossover”,“siamese” and“binding”. The resource competition of “collision” mode,“crossover” mode and “siamese”mode are mainly eliminated before calculating the routes’ path, and the resourcecompetition of “binding” mode is mainly eliminated after calculating the routes’ path.Finally, through the development of the Xin Fengzhen synthetic automation ofmarshalling yard simulating and training system, and using the theory of the “abstractchessboard” model, it achieves the automatic route management of marshalling yard.
