At present, China is expending a great deal of effort on the passenger-dedicated line, the passenger transport capacity of railway will be greatly improved. In this context, the number of passenger trains on the ordinary railway will be bound to reduce, and the transport capacity of the freight trains will be strengthened. The improvement of the freight transport capacity on the railway trunk line will affect the configuration of fitment and the work organization in the railway technical station. Therefore, the study on the track capacity in the railway marshalling station has an important practical significance on the current status and development of the railway.In this article, using the knowledge of system simulation, research on the operation system simulation in the receiving yard of the "two-way three rank-six yard" railway marshalling station. Firstly, system simulation method which is used in this paper has been briefly introduced. Secondly, introduced the yard arrangement and the operating characteristics in the "three rank -six yard" marshalling station, analyzed the determine method of operating process and time in the marshalling station, calculating and investigating the operating time in the receiving yard which has been studied in this article. Then, based on previous research results, determined the mathematical distribution of the receiving flaw in the receiving yard, proposed specific methods of computer-generated the receiving flaw. Based on the actual work in the receiving yard, analyzed the route choosing and route cross interferences in the working process, proposed a reasonable solutions. In the study of the operating system, used system analysis method, divided the receiving yard operating system into the accept train side throat area system, the hump yard throat area system, and hump shunting operating system. In the study of each subsystem, define the job in a reasonable state of operating process and fitment condition, used the corresponding mathematical model to deal with the working route choice and the working cross problem which need the Artificial Intelligence to resolve.Finally, used the knowledge of the discrete system simulation, combined the abstract model of each subsystem, the physical model and the simulation model was established. Using the simulation model of the marshalling station receiving yard working system, we can develope corresponding simulation software, and then analyze the capacity changing situation of the receiving yard working system in different fitment configuration and operating organization condition, which propose the reference to the decision maker.
