Statistics Analysis And Comparative Study On Several Design Elements Of University Museums In Mainland And Taiwan

For society as a whole, university museums provide valuable intangible benefits as thecollective creations of universities and museums. They have the capacity to help studentsreceive a high-quality education, to offer unparallel opportunities for self-directed learningand exploration to people of diverse ages, interests backgrounds and abilities. Recently,university museums grew dramatically with strong government support and the addedpublicity, many of which were showing the new train of thoughts and opening up one majornew major opportunity after another. The future holds promises for even bigger success ofthe university museum.Nevertheless, university museums in our country have yet to be improved up till now.Little or no research is being done to provide general design patterns for different types ofuniversity museums. The development of university museums in mainland China is farfrom being sound, and a primary problem on design is lack of a systematic design theoryand a scientific design basis.In this thesis, starting from the basic design theory of Cross-straits university museums,applying the analytical mode and method of it and combining comparative researches, thewriter summarizes the corresponding methods to develop university museums design modeand the valuable experience in the field of china’s construction.
