With the rapid development of modern satellite technology and the universalization of satellite application, satellite constellation,which is composed of small satellites, play an more and more important role in the military, political, economic and cultural fields, and become an critical part of the people’s daily life gradually. Its application relates to many areas, such as weather forecasting, navigation and positioning, satellite timing service, military reconnaissance, communications, resources exploration and astronomical observations. Satellite technology is becoming the national wrestling field and impact on the country’s prosperity and development greatly.Build satellites constellation is a long-term project spend lots of enormous human and material resources, when we design a satellites constellation, we always hope to maximize the constellation performance and efficiency in the case of the least cost, while reduce the risk and extend the life cycle of the constellation at the greatest degree. Satellite constellation design is the first step of the deployment and operation of the constellation, constellation design plays an extremely important role in the performance and efficiency of the constellation. On the one hand, the optimal design of the satellite constellation is a very complex task, it has a number of influencing factors and a series of complex constraint, at the same time, the constellation performance evaluation is time-consuming and high engineering reliability requirements, all of those factors let it becomes an extremely big challenge; on the other hand, the constellation configuration is an important part of the constellation of satellites, the different conformation satellite constellation have totally different effect on special ground task. When we take consider in a variety of factors of perturbation, we will find the interference of the perturbation on constellation is connect with the configuration of constellation, therefore analysis the constellation configuration, the characteristics of the different configuration constellation, and consider constellation configuration into the design of the satellite constellation is very necessary.Before apply satellite constellation design result to practical engineering, we often need to analysis its various factors and visual simulation of the constellation effect, and thus demonstrate the feasibility and correctness of the design result, we can implemented our design after ensuring is’s accuracy. For these reasons, the satellite constellation package which include the function of satellite constellation factor analysis, constellation performance evaluation, constellation simulation and constellation design optimization function is extremely necessary.This paper analyzes the background and significance of the study, then declares the review of research mainly from the models, algorithms, applications of constellation design and satellite constellation simulation software, analyzes the advantages and dis shortcomings of the existing optimization model, then leads to the content of this study.Furthermore, this article introduce some basic details of the constellation design:including satellite orbit parameters, various types of special but tcommon satellite orbit’s introduction, analysis, calculation and application scenarios. on this basis, this paper develop special orbit satelliterail visualization wizard software; satellite constellation coverage calculation method, including the calculation of the time window and coverage calculation, and the method of split the time window of the target on some special ground target; constellation knowledge, including various special but comman constellation introduction, analysis, calculation and application scenarios, as well as development of satellite constellation visualization wizard software in this article based on various configurations constellation; constellation design, which includes some of the design criteria in the constellation design.This article describes three aspects of a particular configuration constellation design optimization:optimization goals, including the commonly used indicators of the performance evaluation constellation; the constellation optimization model, including Walker-delta constellation, Sigma constellation, Rosette constellation, Star constellation, Flower constellation; Intelligence optimization algorithm, including single-objective optimization algorithm DE used in this article, multi-objective optimization algorithm NSGA-Ⅱ and EPSMOEA algorithm, Many-Objective optimization problems facing problems and solutions and Many-Objective optimizationproblems commonly used test function.Finally is some experiments data on the basis of previous theoretical analysis, including the processes of the optimizer optimize, constellation parameters and the range of values of the parameters of satellite, parameter settings of the three algorithm, ground target parameter settings used in this articleand, after that is the demonstrate and analysis of the experiment data and experimental results.
