Metro construction is becoming more popular in cities around china with the rapid development of urban rail transportation. Urban rail transportation system is rather complicated and fault of any form may cause some damages. In order to effectively safeguard the stability and sustainability of metro running, metro maintenance becomes a must for every metro corporation.As known from the maintenance status of metro corporations, the field maintenance is still in a primary stage, which is a rather passive means and has fatal disadvantages:(1) The driver has no way to ensure the correctness of judge on the damage and severity degree fault during service.(2) Field maintenance staff can not get to know the real situation data of fault timely.(3) The effective communication between the driver, maintenance dispatching center and the field maintenance staff may not be guaranteed.(4) Technical level of the maintenance staff may differ and will lead to different results in problem solving.Focusing on the problems exist in metro vehicle maintenance, the demands are analyzed in this article. A complete system topology structure has been presented according to system demands. And train status remote monitoring system, consisting of on-board system, running gear vibration data sampling system, display software system, vehicle-ground high speed wireless transmission system, train status monitoring terminal system, has been designed. The function of each subsystem has been defined according to system demands, topology and configuration. According to the different task that the system has to carry out, corresponding task data processing system has been designed respectively, including sending the fault data of train in service and real-time status information of train in service, U disk downloading the canceled registering and loading data after verification, sending environment data, sending off-line data, receiving signal system data from DVCOM, etc. Some realizing methods of train status real-time remote monitoring terminal system has been designed and field running results have been presented.
