At present, since fossil energy reserves is declining and the international energydemand increases, the development and application of renewable energy is more andmore attention. Wind power as one of the renewable energy, due to its rich resourcesand relatively mature the technology has been extensively worldwide application.Wind power is becoming one of the most economical methods of generating electricity.Direct-drive permanent magnet wind turbine has developed rapidly due to its simplestructure, low maintenance costs, high conversion efficiency, and high reliability. Thisarticle focusing on the direct-drive permanent magnet wind turbine pitch control sys-tems and security logic device to conducts research.First, the paper describes the control principle and operation characteristics ofwind turbines pitch control and introduce the principle of electric variable pitch sys-tem, for the direct current (DC) drive pitch control system and the alternating current(AC) drive pitch control system conduct detailed analysis.Second, when the wind speed changes, on account of the characteristics of strongnonlinear and big moment of inertia to wind turbine, the traditional PID control algo-rithm is difficult to achieve ideal control effect。In order to solve this situation, de-signing fuzzy adaptive PID controller, according to XE93-2000type permanentmagnet direct drive wind turbine for experimental platform. PID pitch control systemand fuzzy adaptive PID pitch control system simulation by MATLAB/SIMULINK,compare two controller of control effect.Third,considering XE82-2000type permanent magnet direct drive wind turbineemergency oars logic control system of the safety logic device complex, the highfailure rate and large coverage space into consideration, design a new type of securitylogic device. The new security logic device adopts integration and miniaturizationdesign, eliminate unnecessary parts and design control circuit better. When it was in-stalled in XE93-2000type direct-drive permanent magnet wind turbine pitch controlcabinet to test it,it achieved good control effect.
