Induction heating power supply industry trend is the high-frequency, high efficiency, smaller size, digital intelligent, precise-control, and the research and development on induction heating power supply based on IGBT is very necessary. This paper study on medium frequency induction heating power supply, with IGBT switching devices, using the parallel resonant inverter topology, and complete the2kHz/60kW medium frequency induction heating power supply.Firstly, this paper analysis the current situation and development prospects of induction heating power supply and explain the basic principles. Paper compares the advantages and disadvantages of various parallel resonant inverter power adjustment methods, proposes using high-frequency buck chopper adjust output power of power supply. This paper focuses on the parallel resonant inverter and compares the various possible working conditions; in order to ensure reliable operation, inverter uses the overlap angle trigger timing, and it should work in a state of capacitive quasi-resonant. Paper adopts digital phase-locked loop based on DSP and automatic tracking frequency strategy, to ensure controlling frequency follow the changing natural frequency of load and make it work in the state of capacitive quasi-resonant. Paper derives a precise method of calculating output, improving the accuracy of power output.Paper describes the designing process of parallel induction heating power supply, analysis the methods of main circuit designing and selection of key components,uses TI’s TMS320LF2407A DSP as the control center chip, designs a reliable running protection mechanism and simulates the power cooling system. Based on the above analysis, this paper has successfully developed a60kW high-performance parallel-type induction heating power supply. Test results show that the electrical performance of power supply achieves the desired target. Power supply is helpful to improve the stability of induction heating and raise the resonant frequency.
