Converter steelmaking is the main method for steelmaking in China, which is accounting for more and more major proportion in steel industry. A large number of residual-heat flue gas was produced in the process of steelmaking. The amout of heat exported by converter is1116.2MJ/steel·t-1, consisted of81.8%latent heat and18.2%sensible heat, which is an important secondary energy. It’s an effectively way to reduce the cost of steelmaking process and lay a foundation to realize the ’negative energy’if this part of residual-heat could be fully recovered.Compared with the OG desdusting techonology, LT dedusting technology has obviously advantages in economic consumption and energy saving, so this paper is based on the LT dedusting system with the target to recover the heat of flue gas as much as possible on the condition of having no bad influence on the quality of converter gas. Therefore, this paper put forward measures about how to fully recover sensible heat from vaporizing cooling flue to evaporative cooler and the heat by burning low quality coal gas, the former one can be achieved by means of changing the diameter of the flue to increase the radiation heat transfer, the latter one achieved by the operation of drop the flue hoods to inhale air for sufficientlly burning at the converter mouth. Using the FLUENT software to carry out numerical simulation on the design to test the truthfulness of the effects, and then calculate the amount of recyclable steam and additional benefits through the application of this design.At present,the converter residual-heat saturated steam mainly have two kinds of applications:used for generating electricity by steam turbine or directly used as the vacuum furnace steam source, different kinds of enterprise should choose appropriate way according to their own circumstance by analying this two kings of way in energy utilization, efficiency and energy saving.In the production of modern industry, the quality requirments of refining steel has become much higer and the number of quatity requirments is growing as well. Therefore, refining steel is the future development direction of steel enterprise and the technology of vacuum refining is playing a much more important role in the whole area of steel enterprise. RH is the most widely used one among all the types of refining furnaces, so this paper mainly have a study on RH. The vacuum pump used for vacuum-pumping mainly divided into multi-stage steam jet pump’s refining vacuum system, water-ring pump and new dry vacuum pump. Different types of steel enterprise find its appropriate refining vacuum system through the analysis about economic costs and energy consumption of three different vacuum refining operations.This paper focused on the rational utilization of residual-heat saturated steam which will be vigorously developed by steel enterprise in a big scale. Whether it should be used in vacuum-pumping directly or after transforming into electrity, or applied into both of them. Through the comparative of economic efficiency and energy saving of the three mentioned projects to analyze which one is the best way to use the steam in different refining steelmaking proportion.
