| Nowadays, it’s very common that transport vehicle overload in China. In serious areas, almost all vehicles are varying degrees of overloading. Vehicle overloading is very danger to transport traffic security, transport environment and vehicle order. Even worse, it causes great damage to road surface and bridge infrastructures. The only way that can suppress vehicle overloading is charge for vehicle weight. And the key point is how to measure the weight of vehicles. But now weight-in-motion system is so expensive that it’s difficult to spread. This thesis is aimed at the low cost weight-in-motion solution for the related department such as highway management agency technologies of computer software, material and machinery.In this thesis, we propose a solution that, we use image processing software instead of the expensive optics and measuring devices, which can reduce the cost of system implementation. The core of the solution is image processing technology. The main algorithms involved in light spot recognition, the computation of light intense and the analysis of light intense and pressure relationships. The light spot recognition algorithm is to find the light spot from the information from the CCD camera which is the first step of computation of light intense. The computation of light intense and analysis of light intense and pressure relationships is to find the function relation between light intense and pressure. After finished the implement of algorithm, we test the system. And we find the conclusion is similar to the conclusion of laboratory. Also we find some mistakes of the algorithm, and we fixed them.In conclusion, the algorithm work well after improved. And now it takes on going fatigue and materials testing. Furthermore, the first version has been handed over to the test of the traffic management department. It will be compare to the system in use now. It is certain that it will benefit for suppression of vehicle overloading. |
