The Research On Steel Ball Coal Mill Cylinder With Foam Aluminum Laminated Structure

Along with the development of modern industry, environmental pollution isbecoming more and more serious. Noise pollution has became one of the human publicnuisance as a kind of environmental pollution. The noise is not only affect people’snormal work,study and rest, but also damage their nervous system. The steel ball coalmill is the main grinding equipment in heat-engine plant, and when it is working, thenoise is more than90（dB）produced by its barrel which harms the workers’ body andmind. Therefore, it is significant to study the ball mill’s noise control technology.Foam aluminum has good performance in reducing vibration, fighting vibration,absorbing noise and isolating noise. At the same time, it is used as a kind of structuralmaterial and function material. In the paper, the foam aluminum is used in the barrel ofball mill to stop barrel producing noise. At first, the paper analyzes the structure of steelball coal mill, the motion law of steel balls in the barrel and the mechanism ofgenerating noise. It designs the foamed aluminum laminated shell structure barrel, anddo dynamic and static analysis on the two barrels by ANSYS. Secondly，applyingboundary element analysis to the two barrels’ sound field with the software Virtual.Lab.The analysis results show that the foam aluminum laminated structure barrel isbetter in the inhibition of barrel’s vibration, deformation and noise reduction than theexisting barrel. This study puts forward a new way to control the vibration and noise ofball mill, and it also widened the application scope of foam aluminum.
