The power dispatching data network mainly transfers real-time electric power energy data, real-time electric power dispatching data and production management data, etc. It is the basis of safe electricity producing and automatic dispatching. And it has high reliability and meets the requirements of safety.That is very important because any network failure could lead to serious accidents. The electric power dispatching data network is usually quite large and both the network topology and business are complicated. And all of that makes the network maintenance very difficult. In this paper the network simulation of electric power dispatching data and the system of business analysis are set up. Through exactly corresponding parameter configuration to the actual network and meeting the demands of network topology adjustment, business adjustment and network design to simulate. And then, the evaluation of the impact of related configuration and parameter updating to present network features and the business can be get. It is an important means to reduce the risk of network security and reliability. And also it would improve the efficiency of network maintenance. Thus that is also the significance of this paper.BGP/MPLS VPN technology have been widely used in the national electric power dispatching data network. The powerful transmission ability can be made full use to build the data lease line of the entire network structure by BGP/MPLS VPN technology. The data lease line ensures the data transmission requirements of electric power dispatching data network and meets the needs of differentiating, isolating and Quality of service(QoS) guaranteeing of different kinds of service. But BGP/MPLS VPN is a complex kind of VPN technology. And its network simulation model and application system are complicated and difficult to build. OMNeT++is selected as network simulation tool of the power dispatching data network. But OMNeT++as a simulation tool can only implement simple framework models of BGP, MPLS and other related protocol. Basing on the simulation model further extensions and integration are needed to realize the complicated VPN technology involving with various protocols. In this paper, considering of the requirement of power dispatching data network simulation application system, three key issues are mainly studied:how to carry on simulation design and realization for BGP/MPLS VPN technology by using OMNeT++, how to achieve simulation and analysis of power dispatching data network, how to test and evaluate the performance of the simulation system.The main research contents and achievements of this paper are as follows. Firstly, simulation implementation of BGP/MPLS VPN design is realized based on OMNeT++, which mainly includes the extension implementation of MBGP, the design of VRF virtual routing table and the realization of VPN routing distribution and data retransmission. Secondly, Power dispatching data network simulation analysis of typical business is realized based on BGP/MPLS VPN simulation model, which mainly includes UDP and RTP business simulation. Finally, integrated network simulation system is configured, combining with actual network configuration parameters of an electric power dispatching data network enterprise. The functions of VPN and other simulation system are validated by testing route distribution and data forwarding. And the performance of simulation system is evaluated by routing convergence time, VPN throughput and load testing.
