The high speed and high load of train make the condition of wheels which is an important carry load parts getting worse. In order to increase the life and reduce the wear of the train wheels, the well-designed wheel forming process and forming indexes is of great significance to ensure the appearance, accuracy of observation and inner quality, except the development of materials. As the central part of hot wheel forming, the reasonableness of pre-forming process plays an important role. It is not only pre-form the train wheel shape and improve the internal quality However, because of the complex wheel shape and it is difficult to find the exact theoretical solution of forming force in the pre-forming and friction coefficient, the forming technology and die design rely on empirical data and simple theoretical calculations currently. And sometimes its need repeatedly tried to find a more reasonable processing parameters, time-consuming and laborious task.Theory analyses of preform in this paper upsetting established the mathematical models and mechanical models of step sequences and pre-form. And DEF0RM-3D finite element software is used to numerical simulation of preform. This paper analysis the influence on railway wheel preform about different upsetting pressure, velocity and friction factor. And anslyse of mold life based on simulation results and the best simulation parameters.
