Design For The Aging

The design for the aging is based on the old people, the designer should go tofeel the different needs of the elderly by themselves, only like this, we can design thisinterior space in which the elderly can satisfy all the physiological and psychologicalneeds.This paper researches which model of the elderly supporting patterns more fitsmy country, with the aging society of China. Secondly, by above research, I establishthe elderly supporting in their community pattern which is this paper’s architecturebackground. This paper states the design for the aging by two ways. First, the functiondeployment, which come from the case study and the existing research; second, thedetails design in the design for the aging is key, which is based on theenvironment-behavior studies. I research the design for the aging in interiorenvironment of this architect. Compared to most by the space to appearing the designfor the aging, this part by the clue of behavior of the elderly describe that, which hasfive advantages: first, this is the model of human-orientation, and starts from the root,but the "space" usually starts from the perspective of the planners or designers;Second, this is general strongly; Third, the behavior is coherent; Fourth, this model ofdescribing the behavior is understand easily; Fifth. it has more possibilities.This paper discusses the design for the aging is not only in the accessible design.However, it is in the universal design. Universal Design progress in the angle ofthinking than the design of accessibility, not only broader in different crowds, wherethe universal design is all the crowds, but the accessible design is only for the peoplewho has one or more obstacles in their lives.However, it is a vast social background in China, each region is different, andthere are many differences in the various regions of each city. Therefore, the model ofthe elderly supporting is established which should be based on local conditions, andmay be varied in a same area. However, the design for the aging is common, and thispaper’s studies of interior environment can not cover everything, I hope this can be used as reference for the design of public facilities for the elderly, also that it can helpdesigners to more accurate and more rational design it, and it can learn from eachother. The purpose of this paper study is by which the elderly can be barrier-free live,and even can exercise like a normal person in the facilities for the elderly.
