Structural systems such as rigid frames and trusses are widely used in engineering. And the reliability of structural system is more and more catching the attention of engineering technical personnel.It is said that the structural system consists of several interrelated components on the structural level. There are many potential failure modes which lead to the failure of the system. The structure will break up as long as one of its failure modes happens.Therefore, the research object is a structural system with a variety of failure modes. And the calculation of the failure probability of the failure modes becomes the point of the calculation of the reliability of the structural system.The traditional method to calculate the probability of failure modes and the structural system use coefficient of correlation to reflect the relation among the failure modes.The author finds a new way to calculate the reliability of structural system, combing the traditional methods and Monte-Carlo method. Also, the author use load-strength interference model on the system level to estimate the reliability of specific truss structure. Compared with the traditional method, the calculation results of the two methods above are more practical.This thesis contains three essential parts as follows:(1) The failure probability of the five bar truss and ten bar truss is respectively calculated by using the β-unzipping method and differential equivalent recursion algorithm;(2) The failure models of the five bar truss and ten bar truss are established based on Monte-Carlo method. The relations of the failure modes found by the β-unzipping method and Monte-Carlo method is present;(3) Based on the data from the Monte-Carlo method, the calculate method of the failure probability of the five bar truss is established, the stress-strength interference model on the system level applied.
