The Application Of Balanced Suspension In Formula SAE Race Car

Suspension system is a part of the most important component total design for the racingcar,this article is based on Chinese Formula SAE,and on to the University of North FSAEracing team designed for the study, design research racing suspension system. By contrastingthe Influence double wishbone independent suspension and balanced suspension for FSAEracing vehicle performance, try to draw balanced suspension and good performance on thefeasibility FSAE car. The main contents are as follows:Firstly, research and analysis of the concept of balanced suspension, the suspension ofseveral analysis model and its characteristics, analyze the balance of the car ride suspension,grip and handling stability combined effects of soil fertility.Secondly,suspension system based on the requirements of the contest,made racingsuspension system design process. Including wheel alignment parameters selected, select thestructural parameters, selection and calculation of vehicle size, stiffness and dampingcoefficient calculation.What’s more,original design and build a new balanced suspension kinematics simulationmodel ADAMS/Car, the model and simulation analysis. Some of the basic characteristics ofthe suspension before the suspension of the old and new comparative analysis of thesimulation, such as the roll center height and wheel alignment parameters, analyzing the basiccharacteristics of these racing steering stability of the suspension, steering easy operation,comfort and wheel wear degree of. Then the simulation of vehicle steering stability, comparedto the availability of a new equilibrium FSAE racing suspension performance indicatorsshould provide references for further improvement work.Last but not least, suspension design theoretical results of this thesis is North University FSAE racing provides a theoretical guidance, if applied to the practice of racing on thefollow-up work to reduce the burden race preparation.Finally, summarizes the research results in the paper, and puts forward some Suggestionsfor work in the future.
