Traffic is the main artery of the national economy, and it is a variety of means oftransport. As a development of historic vessels but also an important means oftransport, ships are still making a great contribution to mankind in social progress andeconomic prosperity. However people enjoy the water transport fast, convenient andcheap at the same time being puzzled by frequently occurring ship accidents. On theone hand the collision between ship and ship often occur, on the other hand theconsequences of an accident caused by a ship and a bridge will be more severe. Theseincidents not only cause economic loss, environmental damage, and more importantlythreat the safety of human life. In order to improve ship self-protection capabilities,reducing collisions between ships and bridges accident rate, developing an efficient,economical installation of collision warning system devices on ships has a greatpractical significance to the environment.The system is based on higher cost, high efficiency and preciseness, and it uses ahigh-performance single-chip as control core. In addition, the system uses a laserdistance sensor combining with two degrees of freedom electric stage to expand itsscanning range. The two degrees of freedom electric stage consists of a DC motor andstepper motor, the DC motor can rotate horizontally to test the boats or piers aroundthe ship; the stepper motor can rotate the vertical direction to measure the height ofbridge beam. When the measured value obtained is less than the threshold value of thethreshold, the audible alarm system will alert the operator to adjust navigational stateto avoid ship safety.The system has three operating modes can be selected to response the complexenvironmental factors waters traffic. The person in charge has finished the hardwareand software design. Currently the test machine is complete, the data is essential toachieve the desired requirements.
