Magnetic valve controllable reactor as a new reactive power compensation device plays animportant role in improving the quality of power supply and improving the economic benefit ofpower grid. Because the characteristics of its structure, leading to a relatively long response time.The response speed is too slow will seriously affect the dynamic performance of reactor, whichcannot be timely and effective compensation, even lead to the decline of power quality in powersystem. It is necessary to research to improve the response speed of the reactor, and has importantresearch significance and wide application prospect.Based on the understanding the structure and working principle of magnetically controlledreactor, detailed analysis of its working state, equivalent circuit equations and derive magneticallycontrolled reactor. At the same time, through the derivation of MATLAB simulation and theformula is more intuitive description of the operating characteristics of the reactor, especially theharmonic characteristic and response characteristic. This paper focuses on how to improve theresponse speed of the system, the simulation analysis and the experiment results in this paper drawsthe following conclusion:1. By increasing the DC control voltage can improve the response speed of the system.However, the size of DC control voltage is limited by thyristor conduction angle restrictions. Basedon the analysis of the response characteristics, found that the response time and the tap of thereactor ratio is inversely proportional, by increasing the tap ratio, can make the control voltage tothe2times of the original; By adjusting the thyristor conduction angle can make the harmoniccharacteristic of the system is almost unchanged, while the active power loss will not increase, thefastest response time can reach0.15s, and at the same time the requirement on the thyristor pressureresistance and precision is higher.2. External excitation aided structure can improve the response speed of the system. In themagnetron reactor core columns add external auxiliary excitation coil, when the system is runningstable, exciting work only; when the system appear larger fluctuation, external excitation auxiliarycoil into work, It can be positive, reverse excitation, degaussing of reactor, fast changing magneticflux, so as to improve the response speed of the system. At the same time, this paper has carries onMATLAB simulation and test of external excitation alone, internal excitation against externalexcitation and synergistic effect of internal and external excitation. The results show the feasibilityand effectiveness of this method.In the last chapter, the main work of this thesis is summarized, and prospects the development of magnetically controlled reactor in the future in the network.
