At present, although fault diagnosis of traditional gearbox has been widely used, however, because of the harsh operating conditions caused by high-speed train, the fault diagnosis technology of the high-speed train gearbox is still not mature enough. Different from the general drive system or gearbox system, the high-speed train gearbox not only stimulated by the drive system’s vibration interference effects, but also the force from the wheel-rail, so, the vibration characteristics of high-speed train gearbox is more complex. At the same time, domestic high-speed train gearboxs appear cracks without a clear diagnosis result. In these contexts, research content of this paper is shown in the following:1、Research the gearbox’s common fault diagnosis method such as time-frequency method, and analysis the uperiority of the Signal processing method of this paper on gearbox fault diagnosis;2、Summarize the common failure mode of traditional gearbox system, research the mechanism and modulation phenomenon of traditional gearbox, concluded the frequency components of gearbox fault signal, all work is for failure diagnosis of high-speed trains gear box to provide theoretical support;3、Summarize and analyze the characteristics of high-speed trains excitation source, analyse the signal of a high-speed train gearbox based on the vibration characteristics of traditional gearbox, research found that disturbance force from wheel irregularities excitation gearbox’s natural frequency, causing resonance phenomena. At the same time, because of the nonlinear character of high-speed train system, typical nonlinear vibration characteristics exist in the sighal, such as harmonic resonance, frequency trapping phenomenon. Summarize the frequency components of high-speed train gearbox vibration signal due to the irregularities.4、For high-speed train gearbox occurred resonance problem, research the impact of the thickness of the gear box、ribs plate and thickness of ribs plate on the natural frequency of the gearbox. Researchs have shown that both the thickness of the gearbox and ribs plate can improve the natural frequency of the gear box, while adding ribs plate is more applicabl under the conditions of lightweight. Studies have shown that improving damping of material or adding damping material in the surface of the gear box is also an effective way to reduce vibration.
