As the main power source and the main traction transfer parts of the vehicles, the dynamic characteristics of the driving system have an effect on the dynamic performance of vehicle systems to a certain extent. In the early traditional dynamic analysis of the vehicle system, because of the low vehicle running speed, the influence of the driving system on vehicle dynamics is not very obvious, the driving system was rarely considered as an independent unit model in the dynamics simulation analysis, the general processing method was to make the driving system equivalent to the wheelset, frame or the carbody based on the suspension modes of the driving system and did not do the research on the influence of the driving system vibration on the vehicle system. But with the improvement of the vehicle running speed, the dynamic response of trains under the high speed condition has great changes compared with that under the low speed condition. The influences of the driving system vibration characteristics on the vehicle system dynamics have not been ignored. In view of the vehicle driving system, the power bogie model with motors, rotors, gearboxes and gear transmission systems is established and the power bogie model without driving system is also set up. According to the theory of direct torque control, the asynchronous traction motor control model is established. Combining the mechanical and the electrical properties of the driving system and using the Co-simulation method with Simpack and Matlab/Simulink, the electromechanical integration control simulation model is built. With these established models, the changes of the vehicle wheel/rail vertical load and wheel/rail creep under the traction and braking conditions are discussed. The influences of the driving system vibration on the longitudinal, lateral and vertical dynamics of the vehicle system are analysed by comparation and the influences of driving system on the critical speed of cars and the vehicle safty and the stationarity are also analysed. In addition, in view of the fault problems of the traction motor rotor, the rotor rubbing fault dynamic model and the rotor-rolling bearing system eccentricity fault dynamic model are established respectively. The vibration characteristics of the rotor with fault and without fault are analysed, and the influences of the rotor vibration characteristics under fault conditions on the longitudinal and vertical dynamics of the driving system and the entire vehicle system are discussed.
