Double tube hydraulic shock absorber is the mostly used in modern vehicles. It’s dynamic performance has great impacts on vehicle performance. The research on the shock absorber is very imperative. This paper builds the simulation model of the inner flow field’s3-D CFD of the shock absorber’s whole work stroke.The flow-heat coupling analysis model is built for the heat transmission of the shock absorber’s inner flow field. The shock absorber’s temperature rising and heat generating mechanism are discussed. This paper makes a discussion about the flowing problems:1. The structure, development, working principle and the function in vehicle system of the double tube shock absorber are comprehensively elaborated and analyzed. The research methods for shock absorber’s performance of the scholars at home and aboard are summarized. The merits and demerits of research methods are analyzed.2. The dynamic performance’s changing law of the shock absorber’s whole stretch and compression stroke is analyzed. The shock absorber’s3-D flow field analyzing model is built. Through the applying of dynamic mesh technology, the result of numerical analysis agrees with the experiments. The feasibility of the numerical analysis method verified. It provides the reference for the design of other shock absorbers’parameters.3.Through the analysis of the shock absorber’s flow field, the indicated power map and speed curve are drew. The shock absorber’s dynamic performance rules are analyzed:the shock absorber’s damping force increases according with the increase of the piston’s speed, however, the force has little relations with piston’s stroke.4. the shock absorber’s structure parameters’ impacts on the dynamic performance are analyzed. It indicates:Shock absorber’s dynamic performance is sensitive to the size of piston’s constant through-hole area; On the premise of remaining the through-hole’s size unchanged, changing the location of constant through-hole has little impact on shock absorber’s dynamic performance; On the premise of remaining the through-hole’s throttling area unchanged, changing the constant through-hole structure has a great impact on shock absorber’s dynamic performance.5. The impact of shock absorber’s oil parameter on shock absorber’s performance is analyzed: in the same condition, shock absorber’s dumping force increases with the increase of oil viscosity.6. Through the numerical analysis of heat-flow coupling, the distribution of inner flow field’s temperature field of the shock absorber is assured. The mechanism of shock absorber is analyzed. It can provide the reference for the choosing shock absorber’s material.
