The wet multi-disc brakes are the core component of construction machinery. When it worked in a complex working conditions, the brakes are prone to wear, warping and distortion ultimately resulting in fail. In order to improve the performance and service life of the wet multi-disc brakes, the invalid reason of the wet multi-disc brake was analyzed. in order to study wet multi-disc brakes, the three-dimensional finite element model was established and the performance of key elements was studied using ANSYS workbench14.0; Finally, through analyzing its braking process, we got its initial pressure distribution also temperature field and thermal stress distribution in special conditions. Specific work as follows:Based on analysis the work principle of wet multi-disc brakes and master the research status both at home and abroad, the generation of heat in the braking process, heat conduction equation and nonlinear contact theory was elaborated. The heat conduction equation and its structural nonlinear problems was solved; then to solve the coupled thermal stress problems of wet multi-disc brakes using the finite element method.According to the structural parameters the and material parameters of wet multi-disc brakes, a three-dimensional finite element model was established, and the model was simplified and assumption to determine its loading conditions and boundary conditions; its braking process was simulated using ANSYS workbench software, then we can obtain the stress contours and coupled thermal stress contours of eight radial tank wet multi-disc brakes.The distribution rule of temperature and stress of brakes in special conditions was discussed. According to the rule, uneven temperature distribution was the main cause of the deformation, cracks until failure of the brakes friction disc. In order to obtain the temperature change of the friction disc in the braking process, according to the above analysis, a temperature measurement system was designed, the system can monitor and control the temperature of the brake control in real-time.
