Iron ore is the fundamental material in the national industrial production. Overall, total iron ore resources are relatively rich in China, but its grade is lower and the distribution is uneven. So importing a certain a mount iron ore from the oversea market is the inevitable choice in China to meet the increasing demand. This paper focuses on iron ore transportation system between China and Brazil. As the main vector of iron ore trade connecting these two countries, the importance of protection their on ore lines of communication(SLOCs) is more evident and its security has become the important fact or in the development strategy of China’s mineral resources. Therefore, how to assessment of the iron ore SLOCs’risk scientifically, and construct the corresponding mechanism, maintain the iron ore SLOCs security, become important issues of China’s important energy development strategy during the ’Twelfth Five-Year Plan’.The thesis firstly an alyses the degree of dependence on iron ore import and the import patterns based on the status of their on ore SLOCs; on one hand, it elaborates the basic situation of the two main shipping channel between China and Brazil. On the other hand, it tries to construct a channel safety evaluation index system on the basis of reasonable classification among the total factors. Then using the error back propagation feedback model on Matlab software platform to perform the empirical study. At last, it designs a corresponding mechanism including foreign affair sex pansion, marine safety, and management between ports and Shipping companies which proposes some macro-guidance following the above directions.
