With the development of digital substation, the traditional power stations can not meet the requirement of the digital and intelligent, and most traditional power stations on the process layer network used the protocol of IEC61850-9-1or IEC60044-8, did not realize the true sense of intellectualization and digitization. In order to adapt to the development of digital substation, we must realize IEC61850-9-2standard on the process layer network. The IEC61850-9-2standard with IEC61850-9-1standard is more flexible, and more compatible with other components of IEC61850system. This standard can be according to the practical design need to configure the data channel and sampling rate, and realize the data sharing in the process layer, which makes the data of different layers sharing between each layer.Based on the study of the composition and the core technical factors of IEC61850system, and according to the ideas of object-oriented modeling of the IEC61850system to build information modeling for the design of the merging unit, and analyzed the realization of the transmission service mapping of the Sampling value according to the1EC61850-9-2standard and designed merging unit based on FPGA. The design of the merging unit can be divided into synchronous sampling module, data processing module and data output module three modules, and then designed each module. On the design the data output module, the thesis used the combination of the technology of SOPC and Nios II soft core to complete9-2protocol parsing and Ethernet communication design. And using the Modelsim simulation software to test synchronization module and Manchester decoding, the simulation experiment results showed that synchronization module and decoding circuit design fully meet the design requirements.On the design of the experimental scheme using DAQ assistant of Labview to simulate occurring12voltage and current signals,and using MMS Ethereal software to test voltage and current signals of output from the merging unit, the results showed that the combination unit to send data consistency meeting the standard9-2. This device can achieve the demand of merge unit of multi-tasking, a large amount of information and real-time high-speed communication, and have a certain practical value.
