| In recent years, with the boom of road transport industry, the car ownership hasincreased a lot. Meanwhile, traffic accidents also happen more frequently than before,causing serious casualties and property loss. The current situation of traffic accidents inChina is especially serious. A report shows that the car ownership in China accounts for3%of the total car ownership in the world, when casualties in traffic accidents in Chinaaccounts for16%of that in the world. For this reason, it is necessary to conductresearches on traffic safety.It turns out that the rate of accidents on curved road section is higher than that onstraight road section. As well, the seriousness of accidents on curved road section isobviously higher than that on straight road section. Among the causes of traffic accidents,drivers’ decision behavior is the most important one. Moreover, the track of the vehicledriving is the performance of drivers’ decision behavior, which is worthy of researching.The purpose of this dissertation is conducting researches on the properties of tracksof vehicles driving on curved road section based on stability under transport condition ofthe vehicles and giving suggestion to drivers for selecting tracks when they are driving oncurved road section. The content of this dissertation is as follows:(1) Use the mathematical method of coordinate transformation to model the shapesof curved road section based on models of easement curve, which will provide theoreticalbasis for researches on shapes of roads in the future.(2) Classify all the driving tracks that would appear based on the observations of thevehicles driving on typical road sections. Afterwards, model every driving track byestablishing mathematical equations which can describe the shapes of the driving trackcurves and then make a detailed analysis of the characteristics and properties of everydriving track curves, which will be related to the decision behavior of the drivers.(3) Import the database of models of the curved road section and the driving tracksinto simulation software Carsim, and conduct experiments with the built-in model cardatabase inside Carsim. Afterwards, discuss more characteristics and properties in terms of stability under transport condition, find out the track whose handling stability is thebest, and analyze the factors affecting the handling stability of the track.The research production of this dissertation can provide samples for drivers who willdrive through curved road sections. It can also provide fundamental basis and technicalsupport for researches on road alignment and driving tracks in the future. |
