“Man-car conversation” vehicle speech control system is an important part ofintelligent vehicles. By it, some vehicle electronic system can be controlled through speechinstructions instead of manual operation. It is helpful in reducing driver distraction,improving the driving safety and pleasure. What more important is the system providesconvenient and possibility for disabled people to control car, that makes it particularsignificance. According to its user the speech recognition control systems can be dividedinto two categories, driver speech recognition and independent speech recognitioncontrolled by both driver and passengers. Usually, the vehicle is always driven by themaster. Even if for some domestic car used by family, drivers also limit practically in1or2particular persons. Therefore, the research on speech recognition system of driver ismuch more representative and important.A driver Chinese speech recognition method in the car interior noise environment wasproposed in this paper. With some image processing technologies the spectrogramcharacteristics of the speech instructions were analyzed. A car inner speech recognitionsystem prototype and the corresponding procedures were developed to validate the robustand recognition ratio of the method.The full article contains six parts. Firstly, the background of the research areintroduced in chapter one. Secondly, the speech recognition and vehicle speech recognitionare presented, the theory of spectrogram characteristics is discussed particularly. In chapterthree, the driver Chinese speech recognition method which is based on spectrogramcharacteristics is introduced as the core of this paper. In the following chapter, spectrogramgeneration, noise cancel and cross-correlation match algorithm are studied specially. Inchapter five, a prototype of the car speech recognition system and the program of it arepresented. And in chapter six, the experiment of the prototype system is designed and results of the experiment are given. Finally, based on a summarization, a brief outlookresearch is made.
