As one of the key parts of the internal combustion engine,the connecting rod bushingbears high mechanical loads and temperature during its operation. Under the condition oflarge load, its work conditions become worse, which leads to increasing friction and wearphenomena.Good lubrication performance is the key to insure proper operation of theconnecting rod bushing.Research on the thermal lubricating property of connecting rodbushing has theoretical significance and practical value.From the kinematics and dynamics of crank and connecting rod mechanism, this paperdevelops the piston’s formulas of displacement, speed and acceleration and the link’sformulas of angular displacement, angular speed and angular acceleration. By the analysis ofgas forces suffered by connecting rod bushing and reciprocating inertia forces, the externalload that suffered by connecting rod bushing can be deduced.This paper make a study of the formation process and mechanization of the connectingrod bushing hydrodynamic lubricant film and develops the Reynolds equation that suitable forconnecting rod bushing hydrodynamic lubrication. By the four compare boundary contrast, theReynolds boundary conditions is choose. Besides, this paper develops the formulas of the filmcarrying capacity, the frication, the oil flow and the effective temperature suitable for theconnecting rod bushing.In order to consider the influence of the temperature, we adopt the simplified algorithm,and make an equivalent viscosity calculation of viscosity, during which we take the effectiveviscosity einto Reynolds equation. The effective viscosity’s determination need to bedetermined by the effective temperatureTe. The thermal lubrication mathematical model’sfoundation of the connecting rod bushing mainly consists of Reynolds equation, thicknessequation, viscosity-temperature equation and load balancing equation, etc, making theequations realize the dimensionless integration and discrete.And the equation is solved by the finite difference method.Taking a model for the study of the diesel engine connecting rod bushing, the papermakes the simulation analysis of its thermal lubricating property, and some valuableconclusions are got.
