Ships at sea every day need to consume a great deal of fresh water to meet the needsof daily life, work, or power. Middle and small fishing boat that is smaller tonnagerarely equipped with seawater desalination equipment, because it is characteristic of thespace, connecting piping, operation technology and funds lack. The general water tank inthe fishing boat is provided, and according to the flight number and time, before sailing itneed to fill with water. The modes of supply need long-term water storage, easily leadto the breeding of germs, result in the serious degeneration of water quality, produce a lotof health problems, and sometimes is restricted to freshwater exhausted to dock or return.In order to solve drinking water problems in small fishing boats,we designed a new typeof seawater desalination device, which can not only use of waste energy on fishingvessels, but also provide a large amount of fresh water, improve the quality of life of thefishermen.This paper introduces a design of using diesel exhaust waste heat and solar energycombined with seawater desalination device. The sources of device heat is provided bydiesel exhaust waste heat, and use of solar air collector hot air preheating water, and watervapor generated in the evaporator is cooled into water through the process of preparingplate condenser. This paper firstly analyzes the working principle of desalination plantsystem, and an important component of the system (shell and tube evaporator, platecondenser and flat-plate solar air collector) theoretical analysis. We design that the result ofeffective heat distract area of the evaporator is3.85m~2, the plate type heat exchanger is1.020m~2, the region of the solar collector is2m~2.We product the parts of device on thebasis of design and desalination applications software Fluent emulation evaporator meansto emulate the flow of water in the evaporator during the changes of the field of velocityand temperature and pressure. The simulation of evaporator show that according to thewater inside the evaporator absorbed energy is greater, the temperature is higher, the flowrate is faster, the pressure is smaller; We build the experimental platform according to theprinciple, we also make two experimental programs and analyze the thermal characteristicsand water rate, quality of water, cost of system, comparing the two kinds of thermal efficiency ofthe experimental programmer.The results of experiments show that: the diesel engine exhaust emissions,temperature and temperature difference in the process of experiments has a great influenceto the produce of water. When the temperature is during100~180℃of diesel engineexhaust outlet, the increase of temperature, the rate of water increases gradually follow to the increasing of temperature; the difference greater of exhaust gas temperature, Itcombined with simulation of auxiliary collector can quickly reach the thermal saturationpoint, water production efficiency. When the diesel engine exhaust gas temperature iscontinued at about160℃, build water desalination device can be maintained at9kg/h, theproduction of fresh water salinity can be controlled <10mg/L, medium and small fishingboats and fishermen will have enough of water to drink.
