Visualizing the power system data via an intelligent and intuitive way now is one of the corepart of ensuring the security, stabilization and economical operation of power system. With theincreasing amount and dimensions of data from modern power system, traditional method forexpressing the data can not meet the need of grid scheduling staff. So it’s of great significance andurgency to build a excellent Man-machine coordinated situation awareness and visualizationplatform for distribution network, which is designed by approach to user-centered.Distribution network situation awareness and visualized graphic platform is used for thescheduling staff to analyze and invert distribution network situation via displaying the SA graphics.The SVG format SA graphic created by specific visualization algorithm which is based on topologyand real data can describe the situation of the whole distribution network. Therefore, the topic ofthis paper is about the distribution network situation awareness and visualized graphic platform andthe main contents are as follows:Smart grid situation awareness graphic modeling and key issues in Situation Visualization. Inthis part, a conceptual model for smart grid situation management together with the object model ofsituation awareness visualization as well as the core algorithm is provided; the method for situationgraphic display and inversion in a dynamic way is given; The judgment criterion for situationgraphic is also discussed and it is observed that the base picture selection will have a serious impacton the performance of situation induction as well as situation perception.The base picture selection in distribution network situation awareness and visualized graphic.A novel substation-centralized uniformly-distributed distribution network one-line graphic has beenput forward to overcome many shortcomings of regular distribution network graphic in situationawareness visualization. An improved F&R force-direction algorithm is developed to automaticallygenerate such graphic, by introducing the attraction force to shorten the long lines, the pull force toavoid the overlap of load and the nearby lines, the pull force to avoid the overlap between thenearby feeders and between the section lines. Based on the comparing qualitative analysis ofsituation visualization performance of geographic connection graphic and uniformly-distributedconnection graphic, the results showed the situation visualization performance based onuniformly-distributed connection diagram is much better than what is based on geographicconnection diagram.The distribution network situation awareness and visualized graphic platform. With theadvantage of SVG technology in power system graphic interaction, the document structure for situation graphic is provided. A variety of new static situation graphic including Contours Situationgraphic, Distribution Network Abnormal graphic, Power and Network loss situation graphic and3Dsituation graphic is designed based on the situation graphic document structure. Those situationgraphics provided a wealth of image material for the distribution network situation awareness andvisualized graphic platform.
