Because of the big advantages of high utilization ratio of material, wide usage, large bearing capacity, better riding quality, lower structural height and short construction period, orthotropic steel bridge deck is widely used in large-span bridges in the world, as a result of orthotropic steel deck was welding of thin-walled components and directly under the wheel load, it was easy to suffer from fatigue damage. In addition, it is difficult, high cost, long duration and poor effect to repair steel deck crack, but if it is not repaired in time, it would endanger the structural safety of the whole bridge. Fatigue crack seriously affected the safety and durability of the steel bridge.An important work in the study of fatigue of orthotropic steel deck was to determine the stress spectrum of the structural details during the life of the bridge. Europe, Japan and the United States had obtained fatigue load spectrum suitable for their own country through long-term observation on the road. Under normal service condition, the orthotropic steel bridge will have a presence on the panel of pavement, as the pavement scatters the load from vehicle wheels, the equivalent stress amplitude of the main structure details of the orthotropic steel bridge within service life is reduced. But relevant national standards have not made any statement to this reduction. This paper aims at the effect of pavement to the orthotropic steel panel fatigue performance, it mainly studies are as follows:1Review the development of the orthotropic steel bridge panel and its pavement, collects and analyses the fatigue analysis method of orthotropic steel bridge panel.2Using the finite element software ANSYS build typical structural characteristics orthotropic steel panel finite element model,analysis the influence of the change of the bridge deck pavement thickness and stiffness stress on main tectonic details of orthotropic steel bridge panel, and calculate its the equivalent stress amplitude use the S-N curve with Miner method, analyzed the reduction effect of the pavement under wheel loading to the orthotropic steel bridge panel structure details, describes the relationship between different forms of pavement and steel deck.3According to the pavement cracking, calculate the stress influence line of orthotropic steel bridge panel structure details under wheel loads, analyzed the influence of pavement crack to orthotropic steel bridge panel structure details.
