Improving the accessibility of scenic spots plays an important role in enhancing the integrity and balance of the tourism region development, and in the increase of capability of tourism comprehensive competitiveness and the sustainable development of the tourism region. Traffic is the medium of connection of tourists and tourism destination. The convenience degree of traffic in the tourism region is both the most basic and the most important influence factor of the accessibility of scenic spots. Taking Zhongshan Mountain National Park as the research area, this paper aims to evaluate the accessibility of scenic spots by using ArcGIS network analysis functions and setting up different indicators, and then reveal the spatial structure characteristics of the tourism region, hoping to provide decision-making basis for the optimized allocation of tourism resources and reasonable development of the potential tourism resources and tourism planning of the tourism region. In this paper, the main research works are:(1) Through field investigation and data collection, the scenic spots’ accessibility research project database of the Zhongshan Mountain National Park was established, that includes scenic spots, road traffic network and traffic service facilities such as the parking lots, bus stations and sightseeing stations.(2) By analyzing the influence factors the accessibility of scenic spots, combined with the actual situation of the Zhongshan Mountain National Park, the index system and evaluation models of scenic spots’ accessibility evaluation in different tourist traffic modes and different spatial perspectives has been set up.(3) Based on the scenic spots’accessibility evaluation model that founded on the shortest time, the comparative study of the motor vehicle accessibility, the public transport accessibility and the walking accessibility of the tourism scenic area (spot), and the entrance accessibility, the external accessibility, the internal accessibility and the comprehensive accessibility of the tourism scenic area (spot) was made. A number of accessibility thematic maps have been made to reveal the space distribution features of scenic spots. (4) Based on accessibility evaluation results, the optimized plan for the scenic spots’ accessibility has been putting forward to promote the sustainable development of the Zhongshan Mountain National Park. There are several findings from cases:(1) Different tourist traffic patterns have Different influence on the accessibility of scenic spots, and the drive mode is the most influential one, the public transportation mode second, the walking tour mode minimal.(2) Sun yat-sen’s mausoleum scenic spot, Ming Tomb scenic spot and Linggu Temple scenic spot have obvious differences in the entrance accessibility, the external accessibility, the internal accessibility and the comprehensive accessibility of scenic spots. There are attractions of location factors, the distribution of surrounding traffic service facilities, sightseeing car route settings, and so on, that cause accessibility level differences between the scenic spots. At the same time it was shown that:accessibility is a kind of effective method of analysis of the spatial structure of the tourism region.(3) The improvement of scenic spots’ accessibility depends on the construction and optimization of the internal road traffic system of the tourism region. The limit for motor vehicle in the Zhongshan Mountain National Park making the improvement of scenic spots’ accessibility can only rely on the optimization of public transit system. According to the results of the scenic spots’ accessibility analysis, the optimization scheme of scenic spots’ accessibility is proposed in this paper that is to add four sightseeing car routes, one internal loop route in Linggu Temple scenic spot, and one internal travel route in Ming Tomb scenic spot. This optimization scheme has a certain guiding role to the development of the Zhongshan Mountain National Park.
