With the social and economic progress and the continuous development of technology, a variety of monitoring systems have presented and their applications are constantly pervades and permeates all aspects of social life. On the other hand, it also imposes higher requirements on the functions and performances of monitoring systems. In order to overcome the shortcomings of traditional wired type (single-point or multi-point bus type) monitoring system, it is necessary to develop a low-cost, wireless, intelligent, easily maintained monitoring and control system. These upgrades will have good economic and social benefits and play an important role in social progress and economic development.In this report, we first analysis of ZigBee protocol stack and designed a wireless sensor networks based on the ZigBee protocol by using the CC2530wireless microcontroller hardware (TI). Based on carefully analysis of the GPRS network, we developed the GPRS communication module and realized the wireless data exchange between ZigBee network and Internet based on the ZigBee and GPRS technologies of wireless sensor network gateways.Secondly, we developed remote monitoring system of medical equipment parameters (temperature, humidity, voltage, current, etc.) based on ZigBee and GPRS network technology described above. The remote monitoring system is constituted by the remote monitoring software, centralized controller system, monitoring device and control components. The remote monitoring software is constituted by the remote monitoring software, centralized controller, device monitoring and control components. Remote monitoring center software is a Lab Windows/CVI software used a TCP server as hardware platform. Centralized controller system consists of GPRS module, microcontroller and ZigBee coordinator device; monitoring device is used as the ZigBee terminal. Through burning test and other practical test of various functions of the system, we verify that the system is suitable for monitoring applications.The remote monitoring system described in this report is a low cost, user-friendly, easily handling, highly reliable system. Sensor modules and implementation modules can be easily combined and applied in a variety of remote wireless monitoring areas. Compared with the traditional bus monitoring system, our systems provided the two-stage layering wireless communication network and reduced cabling costs. This system had other advantages such as highly reliable, easily handling, intelligent and as well.
