With the rapid growth of national economy, people have a higher requirement for rail transport. High-speed railway has been in continuous reform and innovation to adapt to this trend. In recent years, China has created a series of high-speed CRH EMU by introducing and absorbing foreign advanced technology.In this paper, CRH2EMU traction converters will be the model for study. The study will start from the main circuit structure, working principle and control principle of the three-level four-quadrant PWM converter. Its parameters scope for the AC side of the DC side analysis will be conducted and a simulation of its load characteristics will be studied.Firstly, a brief introduction CRH2EMU will be made which describes the process of its introduction, the main technical characteristics as well as the improvements made to adapt to Chinese national conditions and innovation. Its main traction rectifier circuit structure, working principle and control principle is analyzed, focusing on analysis of the EMU traction rectifier current composition of the structure and basic working principle.CRH2three-level PWM rectifier is regarded as the study model. A detailed analysis of control strategies will be made and the advantages and disadvantages of various control methods are analyzed. According to the requirements of the indicators, the main circuit parameters of the system are mathematical derivate and analysis calculations are made, given the AC side inductance, capacitance range of support to analyze the different parameters affect the entire system and has been in the computer simulation verification.Various models of existing CRH2are summarized and the advantages and disadvantages of each model are analyzed. Rectifier models are taken for.the simulation study. A fixed switching frequency of the instantaneous current control method is used. In Matlab/simulink simulation environment, a detailed study of the traction rectifier operation in response to various conditions and the stability of the control method is verified good dynamic performance and robustness for further experiments and research foundation. Finally CRH2EMU simulation results were compared with the measured data, the analysis found that the simulation results are consistent with the measured data.
