Analysis Of The Urban Rail Transit Network Survivability Under The Terrorist Attacks

Teirorist attack is becoming more and more serious nowadays when economic and global situation changes rapidly. On the other hand, as the rapidly developed urban rail transit has large capacity and confined space, more and more terrorists tend to attack it to make widespread destruction and panic to achieve their own political aspirations. It caused great harm to country and the people, and forced people request higher reliability and security to urban rail transit.Currently, the study of terrorist attack and urban rail transit invulnerability are still in the initial stage. The paper analyzes the urban rail transit based on complex networks theory, and the important hub site and key operational range of network due to the characteristics of terrorist attack goals and strategies, analyzes the invulnerability characteristics of the network after being attacked in different modes through the establishment of a series of measure. It is important to allocate defense resources rationally to prevent calculated attack, develop effective safety management and emergency measures, plan urban rail transit network rational, and improve service and safety quality of urban rail transit.Firstly, the paper summarizes the historical events of terrorist attacks, analyzes the characteristics of terrorist attacks against urban rail transit and the difference between terrorist attacks and other incidents; Secondly, based on the full analysis of the complex network theory, the paper calculates the train number between adjacent sites of the operation schedule, and builds urban rail transit directed weighted network model with station to the node, rail lines to the side, the number of traffic to the weight, and analyzes the scale-free characteristics of the Guangzhou subway network; And then, according to the characteristics of the terrorist attacks, the paper assesses the importance of the nodes and edges,analyzes most of the patterns of terrorist attacks against urban rail transit network from attack targets and attack strategy with incomplete information access mode; Under the full analysis of urban rail transport function, the paper proposes definition of urban rail transit network invulnerability, proposes the invulnerability index system from the physical network and the traffic network. Finally, the paper analyzes the invulnerability performance of urban rail transport network under different attack patterns. The results show that the main nodes and edges play high important roles in the network. Once they are destroyed, the network survivability will be greatly affected, and the network will collapse.
