With the improvement of the operating speed of Chinese electric train, the train steadily draw current increasingly high demand for dynamic properties of the pantograph-OCS systems. The overhead contact system(OCS) as an important part of the traction power supply system, OCS has the characteristics of single and no spare, its structure is stable or not, its performance is good or not, will directly affect the absorbing current of locomotive. The tensile force on overhead contact lines has an important role in maintaining the structure of OCS, it is also influence the dynamic properties of the pantograph-OCS systems.This paper taken the tensile force on overhead contact lines as the research object, explore the management of tensile force on overhead contact lines in the stage of the design, construction and operation. The purpose of this paper is to provide a reference scheme for the management of tensile force on overhead contact lines.The article, firstly, introduced the management of tensile force in the design stage, focused on the method of determining the value of the design tension, design formulas of the tensile force on overhead contact lines were given. Beijing-Tianjin high-speed railway, for example, calculation from a design perspective and the perspective of verification, get the requirements of dynamic properties of the pantograph-OCS systems for tension value under a design speed of350km/h. Studied the relationship between tensile force and temperature, discussed the tension compensation device and Mid-point Anchor of OCS related content. Secondly, a finite element model of OCS-pantograph system was established. Based on the model, this paper studied the influence of OCS when the tensile force on overhead contact lines was changed, these changes can change the contact wire height, also cause fluctuation in contact force under the speed of160km/h,200km/h,250km/h,300km/h, reflected the importance of the tension value that maintained at a certain range. Introduced the existing construction process and technology, discussed the content related to the tensile force on overhead contact lines in the construction, including the installation and adjustment of the tension compensation device, contact wire and catenary wire, Mid-point Anchor of OCS and stitch wire. Finally, introduced the management of tensile force in operation stage, including the influencing factors of tensile force, the test of tensile force, the maintenance of OCS.
