Following the effectuation of the Western China’s development strategy, Highway Transport is developing rapidly. Karst has become the major geological hazards of highway construction in karst region. Karst growth has caused a series of geological hazards, such as karst collapse, influencing highway construction and even endangering the safety of people’s life and property. So we must to detect Karst in survey of high way. Since Karst is varied shapes and distributed without the law, drilling alone is difficult to accurately determine the morphology and distribution of Karst. It is necessary to require the use of engineering geophysics. It must be clear of buried depth, distribution range, developmental condition and so on of the karst caves, otherwise it will become a roadbed subsidence of geological hazards. The thesis is based on the detection of the old G320national highway (Dabanqiao section) upgrade project in Kunming, tried to analysis and research the effective of the complex karst cave area by high-density resistivity method. First we elaborated the basic theory of high-density resistivity metliod, characteristics and data processing and analysis process, and then we create a variety of geological models to simulate forward. Simulation results of different models, different measurement methods, different device types and different burial depth has been analysised. We understand the exception response of different geological conditions cave, it provided a theoretical basis for the correct identification of geological cave. We used high density resistivity method after we knew well the geology, topography and geophysical characteristics in the old G320national highway (Dabanqiao section). We collected the raw data to inversion analysis, explaining the cause of the exception combined forward modeling, inversion and field conditions. Finally, we summarized the practicability and validity of the exploration of karst areas, and put forward suggestions for the future work.
