The rotor pump is a positive displacement pump applied widely, The current it has a big gap on the performance between domestic product and abroad, the method of imitation or analogy is widely used in design and development of domestic rotor pump, the theory research of rotor pump is less.This article mainly researched in the parametric design of the circular rotor profile, obtaining flow laws of internal flow field and the analysis of the flow characteristic in the export and so on, Tries to get some valuable information, provide certain theoretical reference for subsequent optimization design.In this paper, the main contents are as follows:(1) The calculation of some important parameters in the design process of circular rotor pump is analyzed, and some reference range is presented, such as span ratio, the gap between the rotor, pump diameter of imports and exports and speed selection, etc.(2) The main parameters of circular rotor profile and the relationship between them is given, according to the formative theory of the circular rotor profile., geometric method is used to deduce the circular rotor profile theory equation and the actual equation. According to the actual profile line equation, the procedure of calculation and actual profile drawing is written out by VBA embedded in AutoCAD to establish parametric design platform of circular rotor profile, so it can improve the efficiency of circular rotor profile design and drawing.(3) FLUENT is used in the numerical simulation of flow field of rotor pump by UDF and dynamic mesh technique, to get the internal pressure and velocity distribution of flow field, the important phenomenon of flow is captured and analyzed, such as eddy and regurgitation, it can provide certain theoretical reference for the optimization design of the rotor pump.(4) The effect of different conditions on the outlet flow characteristics is predicted by simulation. Those different conditions include medium viscosity and the pressure difference of import and export, then the causes of this effect is analyzes. Results show that the average flow rate and flow pulsation coefficient on export is certain affected by the increase of viscosity, it is proved rotor pump has a good flow characteristic in the transport of high viscosity medium. The simulation shows that differential pressure of import and export had a great influence on the flow characteristic on export, This is closely related to the structure of the certain gap between the rotor. At the same time it verifies the rotor pump has certain limitations in high pressure transmission.
