Earthquake disaster is one of the most serious disasters in human society. Because there are many limitations in traditional method, in recent years the structural vibration control technology has aroused great interest.The structure control technology has the advantages of safety and economy, good effect.In practice, there are unavoidable differences between the structure and mode which reduce the controlling effect. Therefore,it has important significance to study controlling method with strong robustness.Sliding mode control is an active control algorithm with strong robustness and has better effect and higher stability. The major disadvantage of this method is producing larger chattering in controlling process. Because of the speeding up of urbanization, there are a large number of irregular structures appearing. When the earthquake occur, there will be torsional destruction in the structure.In order to control the torsional vibration of irregular structure, on the premise of keeping chattering low, this paper adopts the sliding mode variable structure control method to study the seismic response of the irregular structure.The main research aspects are as follows.For continuous time systems model, this paper puts forward a continuous sliding mode control method containing index reaching rate to control irregular structure under one-way seismic loading. The numerical results show that the proposed method can effectively weaken translational and reverse reaction of structure under seismic action on the premise of keeping chattering low, and it has good robustness.For discrete time system model, the paper puts forward a sliding mode control method containing index reaching rate of discrete to control irregular structure under the action of the earthquake. Simulation examples show that this method can weaken translational and torsional response of structure under seismic action effectively and this method has good robustness.Considering it not practical to install too much sensor in a large structure for measuring all state. Kalman filter can estimate part state of structure relative precisely. In this paper, discrete sliding mode control adding Kalman filter is emphatically proposed to controlling structure.(1)We design the sliding mode control method containing a Kalman filter and apply the method to the symmetric structure.The simulation results show that this method estimates part state of the structure relative precisely, and has a good controlling effect.(2)Because the earthquake is multidimensional,so the controlling method is applied to irregular building under multidimensional earthquake.The simulation results show that this method estimates part state of the structure relative precisely and has a good controlling effect.
