Since the1980s, along with the development of materials, power devices, control technology and sensor technology, increasing the performance of linear motor, costs continue to decline, it creates the conditions for its wide range of applications.For conventional magnetic structure linear motor, you can optimize the design, selection of high-performance magnetic materials to increase output, but its effect is limited. To contribute greatly improved, new ideas must be made from the structure and principles.The linear machine can accomplish linear movement without any additional equipment, but the low force density has limited its applications. In terms of high torque density/power density characteristics, transverse flux permanent magnet mach-ine is an ideal choice. In this paper, applied to the cylindrical retractable door transverse flux permanent magnet linear motor for the study, its analysis and calculation of the theoretical research. Focus on cylindrical magnetic field transverse flux permanent magnet linear motor were analytical calculation, further use of three-dimensional finite element method to calculate the accuracy of analytical results is verified, then the influence of various parameters on the electrical properties of the structure, and the circle cylindrical transverse flux permanent magnet linear motor load characteristics were three-dimensional finite element simulation.The main contents are as follows:First of all, this thesis gave the basic structure and working principle of the tubular transverse flux permanent magnet linear machine, compared the advantages and disadvantages of the different structure forms, and selected ones to form the overall structure of the tubular transverse flux permanent magnet linear machine, then discussed the superiority of this kind of motor compared to other ordinary machines and its shortcomings.Secondly, this thesis used the circular arc-linear magnetic conductivity model to do analytical calculation on the tubular transverse flux permanent magnet linear machine, and calculated some expressions, which including the magnetic flux of the motor air gap, the surface magnetic flux of permanent magnet and magnetic flux leakage coefficient, then concluded the induced emf waveform of the motor, and writed the corresponding computer aided calculation program.Thirdly, using three-dimensional electromagnetic field finite element method, this thesis built the simulation model of the tubular transverse flux permanent magnet linear machine, verified the results of the analytical calculation this thesis derived (including transient field validation and static verification of special positions, etc.), proved that the derivation of the tubular transverse flux permanent magnet linear machine was correct, which provided a solid foundation to the further theoretical research of this kind motor.Finally, through the analytical calculation, this thesis researched the parameters’ affection to the no-load emf waveform of the tubular transverse flux permanent magnet linear machine. Based on this, this thesis optimized the three-dimensional finite element model of the tubular transverse flux permanent magnet linear machine, and did three-dimensional finite element simulation calculation to the load characteristic of the tubular transverse flux permanent magnet linear machine.
