The large axial flow pumps play an important role in water supplying, flood drainage,watering farms etc..The safety and efficiency of the vertical motor what drives the pumps,is the key exploitation of water conservancy project. The core components of the verticalmotor is the Multi Tilting-Pad Journal Bearing, which ensure the vertical motor running insafe and efficient status. To manufacture and repair this bearing requires excellenttechnique. So, it is very necessary to conduct research on Multi Tilting-Pad JournalBearing.In this thesis, a typical case about the TL-1000vertical synchronic motor was selectedto analyse the problem of higher temperature happened in many vertical motors inpumping station. The concrete research as below:1. The load of the journal bearing of vertical motor was analysed by ANSYS12.0.Thepracticability of decreasing the stress concentration of the groove was testified. Thenumerical simulation analysis of ameliorating bearing structural proved that, millinggroove on the surface of journal bearing won’t cause stress concentration.2. The flow field and pressure filed of journal bearing oil slick in two differentrunning state was numerical simulation analysed by ANYS FLORTRAN. By analyzing,the bearing capacity and distribution of the oil slick in different assembly clearance wasobtained.3. The temperature field of oil slick was numerical simulation analysed by ANSYSFLORTRAN. The temperature field of journal bearing was numerical simulation analysedby ANSYS thermal. The analytic result indicate that by amplifying the assembly clearanceand improving the condition of heat exchange, the temperature of journal bearing would bereduced.4. Based on the result of numerical simulation analysis, multi ways of technicaltransformation were carried out on the TL-1000vertical synchronic motors of hai-yng-jingpumping station of changshu.jiangsu.province. The result of numerical simulation and the engineering practice were combined. Thetransformation brought about that the temperature of the journal bearing was reduced inreality. The technique skill can be used on similar equipment.
