| With the development of vehicle instrument and the increased motor vehicle population in China, as an important assistant facility of automobile, the vehicle heater has been applied widely. The vehicle heater which is used for cold engine starting, cab and carriage heating, and glass defrosting gets good market prospect because of energy shortage and increasingly stringent emissions regulations. At present, the heaters which serve for buses, coach and military vehicles have large body and high power output. The evaporative type fuel heater which is used for passenger cars has a compact structure, high thermal efficiency, a small size and convenient installation. It is remarkable and valuable research on improvement of working performance and structure. This article carries on the numerical simulation and experimental performance of different improved types of YJH-Q10evaporative fuel heater, investigating the working process and analyzing the internal rule for providing improvement basis.Firstly, CFD software Fluent is used for numerical simulation of heater combustion chamber to search internal flowing situation. Analyzing flow process at different positions and studying the internal fluid field distribution and causing factors of the improved chamber, focus on airflow and fuel mixture. The comparative analysis of different improved chambers studies the impact of the structural factor to airflow, such as the diameter, eccentricity, axial distance, which provides basis for reasonable airflow and enhanced chamber performance. The numerical result verifies that swirling inlet is benefit to the air fuel mixture and the decrease of carbon deposition, and a preferable numerical scheme is considered.Then experiments are carried out on YJH-Q10evaporative type vehicle fuel heater with the different first-stage combustion chambers. During the test, performance experiments with different schemes are made under the different feed frequency, their experimental curves are taken out by data collection system and the test result is got. Analyzing effects of different structure on results and considering the former numerical simulation, a kind of heater with swirling intake holes are confirmed. By carrying out experiment on the original heater and the improved one, experimental data such as heat power, pressure and exhaust is researched, carbon deposition is considered, and the difference between the two is readily discernible. A temperature measuring method by thermocouples sliding along combustion chamber axially is designed. By the result of this measuring method, the temperature distribution of combustion is analyzed. Meanwhile, inserting Pt100thermal resistance into cone cover, the temperature distribution of inner surface is measured. |
