Ethernet multi-channel ultrasonic flaw detector is the digital ultrasonic flaw detectorwith a plurality of channels and network communication function constructed on the basisof conventional ultrasonic flaw detector. The ultrasonic flaw detector launches andreceives multi-channel ultrasonic flaw detection signal through a set of ultrasonic probes,these signals are send into the host controller after a series of processing, data compressionwork is carried out by the controller and transmit signal through compression by thenetwork port to switch, then send to the host computer by the switch for image renderingand display, making it more intuitive reaction to detect damage condition of the object. Theultrasonic flaw detector is for multiple probes and simultaneously designed to damagedetection of thin steel plate can meet its high-speed, high-reliability applications and havethe certain practical value.The paper mainly introduces the basic design principle of Ethernet multi-channelultrasonic flaw detector, to identify a set of high-speed digital ultrasonic flaw detectordesigned program by program comparison and the actual needs, to introduce the workingprinciple and designed method of each module in detail, and then have carried on thesimulation of the majority of circuit, finally have given the actual processing result ofultimate data. The flaw detector mainly consists of ultrasonic signal processing module,data compression module, Ethernet data transmission module and waveform disp layedmodule of the host computer. Ultrasonic signal processing module is consist of ultrasonictransmit circuit, boost circuit, echo limit circuit, amplifying and filtering circuit, envelopedetection circuit and A/D convert control circuit, which is responsible for digitalprocessing of the echo waveform signal that has been received. The data compressionmodule mainly includes the data compressor and FIFO circuit. Data compressor’s functionis to compress the data after A/D convert to reduce unnecessary data information andenhance the efficiency of data processing. The FIFO circuit is responsible for storage ofthe effective data compressed, waiting for the controller to call. The Ethernet datatransmission module includes Ethernet communication circuit designed by using W5300 and the finite state machine of controlling W5300.W5300can provide networkcommunication protocol for flaw detector as high-speed hardware protocol stack chip, tocontrol Ethernet data transceiver with the finite state machine and complete the networkcommunication function. The waveform displayed module of the host computer drawscorresponding waveform using received data and displays inspection results, making itmore intuitive.The hardware circuit and the host computer interface of various parts of the flawdetector receive and extract the better echo signal, and effective data compression andstorage through a lot of validation experiments, have obtained the high networkcommunication rate, through the appropriate setting to meet the each channel’srequirements of communication rate when multi-channel simultaneously massivetransmission data, have obtained the better waveform demonstration effect on the hostcomputer and have the good effect for the detection of thin steel plate’s injuring, can dealwith its large amount of data effectively to meet the real-time requirements of the detection,has the certain reference value to the multi-channel ultrasonic flaw detector.
