In recent years, with the growing Beijing urban construction projects, updating andtransformation courtyard building with historic districts continue to emerge. In the interests ofthe supremacy of the market economy, while historical and cultural heritage features andfunctions to meet the needs of the modern city, has become a model to explore the historicdistrict courtyard building adaptive reuse of research priorities. In this paper, the historicdistrict courtyard type building for the object, based on analysis of the characteristics and caseinduction, discuss methods and strategies courtyard-type adaptive reuse of historic buildings,and the hope of future renovation projects have some suggestions and contributions.The first chapter of the thesis dissertation research purpose, meaning and relevantresearch results at home and abroad made a brief presentation on the research paper to belimited.The second chapter, respectively, from four directions to elaborate courtyard typebuilding characteristics, namely the construction history, architectural shapes characteristicfeatures of architectural form and space form the courtyard. Problems such as the practice of re-use transformation in imitation of theoriginal building, ignoring the courtyard space, arbitrary alterations and other issues. Strivefor the future reconstruction projects and to make some suggestions and contributionssummary and outlook for the Beijing courtyard building with historic district adaptive reuse.
